A tennis bracelet is forty-odd separate settings. What separates two of them is how long someone spent on each one.
Step one
Set by hand
Every stone is seated in its own setting and the prongs closed one at a time. Machine-set lines are pressed out in a strip, which is why they sit unevenly when you look down the length of one.
Step two
Polished 7x
Seven passes before it leaves the bench. That is what the shine is — not a coating over a rough surface, but a surface that was made smooth first.
Step three
Closed twice
A box catch that clicks shut, and a hinged safety latch folded over the top. Two independent closures, because the clasp is the part that fails first and the reason most people stop wearing one.
Received mine today, it is absolutely beautiful and more than I expected.
